The Legacy Education Fund
The Legacy Education Fund is designed to support small projects by music educators within a 50-mile radius of the Brainerd-Baxter area. Please read through the eligibility requirements below before beginning an application.
Applications will be received through March 15, 2026. Please email completed applications to Kennedy Niska at kennedy@legacychorale.org
Eligibility Requirements:
- Funds are available to schools, nonprofits, private lesson studios, and individuals whose intended outcome(s) support music education.
- The proposed activities must take place within a 50-mile radius of Brainerd-Baxter by an organization or individual located/residing within this geographic area.
- Proposed activities must take place between March 1, 2026 and October 15, 2026
What we support:
- Startup/new programs
- Existing programs
- Schools, booster programs, nonprofits, lesson studios, individuals
- Music education for all ages and abilities
- Purchase of equipment, music, or supplies to achieve a music education goal
- Proposals that demonstrate outcomes to specific vocal music are preferred
Funding Amounts
The Legacy Education Fund will consider the funding of a proposal up to $500. No matching funds are required, but applicants are asked to list any additional funds that are used to support the proposal.
Dispersal of Funds
Applications will be reviewed in mid-March. Approved proposals will receive funding by the end of March.
